Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) completed tests in the first pipeline that will bring natural gas from South Sumatera to customers in West Java. Adil Abas, development director of PGN said that the company expects to start filling the pipelines within 4 days, and it will reach its first customer, a private power producer in five days. The pipelines, to be fed by fields operated by ConocoPhillips and state oil company Pertamina are expected to double PGN''s sales volume this year.
Medco Energi Internasionalwill start to produce oil and gas from Camar and Singa Blocks in South Sumatera from Mar 07. Camar block will produce 1,000 bopd of oil while Singa block is expected to produce up to 50-70 mmscfd of gas. All of the gas from Singa block will be distributed to Java through PGN''s SSWJ pipelines. SSWJ pipeline is expected to launch its first "gas in" on 11 Mar 07.
